Rylee Burk and Lily Little each had 10 service points to lead West Central to a 25-9, 25-17 win Pleasant Hill in volleyball Oct. 11 at Bluffs.
The first game was tied at 3 before West Central scored eight straight points. Pleasant Hill had a service error and called for a net violation, and the Cougars led 5-3.
Burk had a service ace, and Little had a kill to extend the lead to 7-3, Burk had two more service points, and Pleasant Hill was called for a net violation, and West Central led 10-3.
Bell Brown had a kill and a block to increase the lead to 23-8. West Central led 24-9, and Pleasant Hill hit the ball out of bounds for game point.
West Central trailed 5-4 in the second game before kills by Little and Elise Brown gave the Cougars a 6-5 lead. Little had a service ace, and Pleasant Hill had three straight hitting errors to extend the lead to 11-5.
The Cougars led just 18-14 but increased the lead after a service error by Pleasant Hill, a kill by Little and two service points from Burk. Little had a kill to end the match.
Little had 10 service points, including four aces, 10 kills, one block and one dig for West Central (14-13). Burk had 10 service points, including four aces, and six digs.
Gabby Sievers had four service points, including two aces, seven digs, four assists, one kill and one block. Brylee Lawson had four service points, one kill, one block and one assist.
Shaylyn Bitoon had three service points and nine assists. Abbie Vieira had five digs, two kills and one assist. Bell Brown had two digs, one kill and one block. Elise Brown had three digs and one kill.
Josie Clayton had one service point and two digs. Kenlee Coats and Kaylee Hamilton each had one dig. Gracie Moore had one kill.
West Central won the junior varsity match 25-16, 25-12.
