From the desk of Pastor David Slagle – 217-473-1892.
It was a cool windy drive to church this morning, but was looking forward to fellowshiping with the family of God. We enjoyed a great gathering of believers this morning.
On Sunday, May 7, we will welcome Jessica Darr, the executive director of the Jacksonville Living Alternatives Pregnancy Resource Center, to our morning worship service. Jessica will update us on the ongoing service provided by this center. We are honored to be a supporter of this center.
Mother’s Day is just two Sundays away and the men of our fellowship will provide our ladies with breakfast before the worship service. We appreciate our ladies very much for all they do here at Walkerville Baptist Church.
Our message this morning was the “existence, the evidence, and the eternal nature of God.” Revelation 1:8, Psalms 19:1, Psalms 41:13. Scripture tells us that God was, is, and always will be. Revelation 1:8– “I am alpha and omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the almighty.” God has always been present and will always be present. Isaiah 44:6– “Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of Hosts– I am the first, and I am the last, and, beside me, there is no God.”
Our recent prayer needs are Harold and Jane and Tina, Cherly’s brother, Randy and Diane and their neighbors, Barb, Dorothy’s son Jerry, George and Sandy.
We invite you to join us Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. for our Bible study– this Wednesday evening we will be looking at “the mark of the beast,” Revelation 13:1-18. God bless.
