PCSD make child porn arrest Friday

On June 21 at 7:15 a.m., law enforcement officials from the Pike County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD), assisted by the Brown County Sheriff’s Department, conducted a traffic stop on Illinois 107 near the Perry Junction on a silver 2017 Cadillac.
A pre-planned traffic stop resulted in Isaac J. Dorsey, 36, of Griggsville being arrested and taken into custody on child pornography charges. Dorsey was pulled over near the 107/104 intersection.
At the same time as the traffic stop, law enforcement officials from the PCSD, assisted by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, executed a court-authorized search warrant on Dorsey’s residence in the 300 block of North State Street, Griggsville. Subsequent to the execution of said search warrant, several electronic devices were collected and seized.
Dorsey is charged with 20 counts of unlawful possession of child pornography. Dorsey is accused of possessing videos and photographs, via an electronic device, of children under the age of 13 years old engaged in various sexual acts.
Dorsey is currently lodged in the Pike County Jail.
The criminal investigation began in May when information was received regarding the unlawful possession of child pornography. The investigation was forwarded to the PCSD for further investigation.
Chief Deputy Zack Orr, who led the criminal investigation, said numerous search warrants were obtained and executed, which helped law enforcement successfully identify, locate, and arrest Dorsey.
Chief Deputy Zack Orr is assigned to the Office of Illinois Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Orr said this arrest is another example of proactive policing concerning internet crimes.
“Every time an image or video containing child sex abuse material (CSAM) is shared, the victim is ‘revictimized,’” Orr said.
The PCSD was assisted by the Illinois State Police Air Operations Bureau, West Central Illinois Task Force, Brown County Sheriff’s Office, Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, and the Office of the Illinois Attorney General.
The task force is a national network of 61 coordinated task forces representing 5,400 federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies. The task force is dedicated to investigating, prosecuting, and developing effective responses to internet crimes against children.
