A Pittsfield teenager arrested for child pornography possession charges last November was sentenced last week to probation.
Andrew C. Snow, 19, Pittsfield, pleaded guilty to two counts of class 2 felony possession of child pornography and a class A misdemeanor a of criminal sexual abuse of a minor. Judge Frank McCartney handed down the sentence.
Snow will serve four years probation, pay $3,514 in fines and fees, and was given credit for 43 days served in the Pike County Jail and for 212 days he was in home confinement.
Snow was arrested Nov. 6, 2023 after law enforcement officials from the Pike County Sheriff’s Department, the Pittsfield City Police Department, the Illinois State Police, Illinois Conservation Police and the Attorney General’s office executed a search warrant at a residence in the 400 block of Sycamore Street in Pittsfield.
Snow was accused of possessing and disseminating videos via an electronic device of children under the age of 13 engaged in various acts.
The investigation began in September when information was received regarding the child pornography.
Chief Deputy Zack Orr led the criminal investigation. Orr said numerous search warrants were obtained and executed which held law enforcement successfully identify, locate and arrest Snow.
Feb. 16, a single county of criminal sexual abuse of a minor less than five years younger than the perpetrator was filed. No additional information on that investigation was released.
