Thrice Kirkpatrick struck out 12 batters, and West Central beat Springfield Christ the King 5-2 in junior high baseball Sept 18 at Bluffs.Kirkpatrick allowed two hits, walked two batters and allowed one earned run. He also went 2-for-4 with a double and scored a run.Kirkpatrick scored West Central’s first run in the third inning. He doubled to lead off the inning and scored on a wild pitch.
Emerson Little doubled in the third inning, stole third base and scored on an error.
The Cougars added three more runs in the fifth inning. Blayne Vortman doubled and scored on a single by Brock Fuhler. Courtesy runner Jace Fryman and Emerson Little both scored when Jack Little reached on an error.
Emerson Little went 1-for-2 and scored two runs. Vortman went 1-for-2 with a double and scored a run. Fuhler went 1-for-3 and scored a run. Jack Little went 1-for-2, and Fryman scored one run.
