Mary Lou Lehr | 97 | Carrollton
Mary Lou Lehr, 97, of Carrollton, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2024, at Calhoun Care Center. She as born Feb. 14, 1927, in Carrollton, the daughter of Irl and Lila Reiss Davidson.
She is survived by two sons, David Lehr of Eldred, Kris (Tammy) Lehr of Eldred; a daughter, Ronie (Charles) Tozer of Springfield; 10 grandchildren, Misty Buscher, Chance Tozer, Chaz Tozer, Brittney Lehr, Brett Lehr, Breanna Lehr, Leah Sylvester, Bill Lehr, Chelsey Latimer and Craig Lehr; 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Greg Lehr; a grandson, Jordan Lehr; and two sisters, Nina May Trusty and Eleanor June Taylor.
Mary Lou worked for the State of Illinois Department of Mental Health. She also worked for Mobile Chemical and Columbiana Seed Company. She was a faithful member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Carrollton. Mary Lou was known for being an extreme Republican and was proud of it. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2024 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Carrollton. Burial will be in Eldred Memorial Gardens at a later date. A luncheon will be held at the Eldred American Legion following the service. Memorials may be suggested to the Eldred American Legion Post 1135 Ladies Auxiliary.
