Tracy L. Butler | 78 | Pittsfield
Tracy L. Butler, age 78, of Pittsfield, IL passed away on Sunday Nov. 24, 2024, at Illini Hospital. He was born on Dec. 29, 1945, in Pittsfield, IL to Leo and Mary (Daniels) Butler. Tracy married the love of his life, Vicki McClintock on Aug. 24, 1973, at the Calvary Baptist Church and she preceded him in death on March 22, 2020.
Tracy graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1964, and went on to work at Owens Grocery Store for several years. He then started his trucking career with Stilwell Trucking which later became Econo Express and finally Dyno Transportation until his retirement. Tracy always enjoyed his camping trips to Mark Twain Lake with Vicki. Known for always wearing a cowboy hat, Tracy loved to ride horses and enjoyed his trip out to the Wild West. He was a history buff and liked old cars and semis as well as watching Westerns and listening to oldies rock and roll and country western music. In his later years he was able to get closer to his brothers who became his best friends. Tracy enjoyed fellowship at the Cardinal Inn especially on music nights. He was very social and never knew a stranger. He was proud of his boys and was always ready to attend his grandchildren, niece and nephew’s ballgames and activities. Tracy was a hardworking man who was always supportive and had a big heart. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Tracy is survived by his sons, Rich Butler of Pittsfield, IL, Randy (Sonya) Butler of Mackinaw, IL, and Brian (Dave Wong) Butler of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren, Jason Butler, Joseph (Megan) Butler, Allison Butler, and Drew Butler; three great grandchildren, Chase, Aubrey and Wrenna Butler; one sister, Mona Seyl of Daytona Beach, FL; in-laws, Gene Martin and Ruthe Lutrell; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and his lifelong friend Richard Franklin of Ball Ground, GA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vicki; four brothers, Gary, Konrad (Janet), Roger (Carol), and Allen Butler; two sisters, Marcia Baughman and Tab Frey; daughter-in-law Donna Butler; brother-in-law Randy McClintock.
Funeral service was held on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with visitation prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment followed the service at Pittsfield West Cemetery.
