Easter Egg hunt at Griggsville Estate Saturday
The Griggsville Estates will hold an Easter egg hunt this Saturday (4/12) at 2pm. Kids ages 0-10 are welcome to participate. (Rain date – 4/19)
The County Animal Rescue Efforts (C.A.R.E.) Foundation will host a chili supper this Saturday from 4:30pm-7pm at the Detroit Town Hall. There will be a 50/50 raffle and silent auction, and carry-outs will be available. Freewill donations will go to the C.A.R.E. Foundation. Proceeds from this event will benefit the low cost spay/neuter clinic via the Pike County Animal Shelter.
Congratulations to GP senior Mariska Sheurman for being recognized as the Daughter of the American Revolution Good Citizen!
Bradyn Lister was recently selected as the Brad Lipcaman Country Financial Student Athlete of the Month for March! He is the son of Eric and Amy Lister. Bradyn is described as “a role model for those younger than him and is a leader in the classroom.” He plans to attend a four-year university to study athletic training. Congratulations and best wishes Bradyn!
The GP elementary classes are busy preparing the “Where the Wild Things Are!” glow show. Plan to stop in at the elementary library April 16 from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. to check out some pretty cool art work that glows in the dark!
The Bright Star Parish of the United Methodist Church will hold Holy Thursday service April 17 at 7 p.m. at the Perry United Methodist Church. Holy Communion will be served during the service. Good Friday, April 18, the Griggsville United Methodist Church will host a Community Good Friday worship service at 7pm. All are welcome!
The GP PTO will be hosting “Are You Smarter Than A GP Student” Trivia Night April 26 at the Griggsville American Legion. Get your team together and register on the GP PTO Facebook page!
Cleanup Days in Griggsville are scheduled for April 30 through May 2. Items to be picked up need to be curbside no later than april 30. Cleanup days can include three yards per address and is curb pick-up only. Do not combine with neighbors! The following items will NOT be accepted: hazardous materials, oil-based paints, petroleum products, tires, asbestos, pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, household and industrial chemicals, yard waste, brush, electronic items, and computer items.
GP’s middle school science fair is set for April 30 from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. in Perry. Plan to see lots of scientific entries and maybe learn a little something too!
