Anthony Hance drove in two runs, and West Central beat South Fulton 6-2 in baseball April 9 at Astoria.
The game was scoreless until West Central scored four runs in the third inning.
Cameron Sievers walked and scored on a double by Carson Brown. Brown was thrown out trying to steal third base.
Landyn Woods and Caden Meyer both walked, and Tucker Arnold singled to load the bases. Hance doubled to drive in all three runners, and the Cougars led 4-0.
South Fulton got within 4-2, but the Cougars scored a run in both the fifth and sixth innings.
Meyer reached on an error in the fifth and scored on a double by Hance. Dalton Hutton tripled in the sixth inning and scored on a groundout by Sievers.
Hance went 2-for-2 with two doubles and drove in fourth for West Central. Brown went 1-for-3, drive in one run and had a stolen base. Arnold went 1-for-4 and scored one run.
Meyer scored two runs, and Sievers scored one run and drove in one run. Hutton scored one run and had a stolen base. Woods scored one run. Hayden Johns went 1-for-3.
Meyer allowed three hits in fourth innings and picked up the victory. He allowed two runs, walked three batters and struck out seven. Woods pitched the final three innings for the save. He did not allow a hit and did not walk batter. He struck out six.
