Take time to remember why we have Easter
Easter is Sunday. Take time to remember why we have Easter in the first place. Jesus died for us all, rose from the dead, and is in heaven to welcome us there.
Hope you all have your calendars marked for next Saturday, April 26, for the premier performance concert of the BIG RIVER BAND that will be taking place at the Pike County Senior Center at 220 West Adams in Pittsfield (building right behind the Public Library). This is for all adults and will be from 6:30-9:00. There are no admission charges but a bucket will be passed to help with band expenses. There is plenty of parking with a big well lit parking lot at the west side of the building and a handicap entrance also on that side of the building. Be sure and have your supper before arriving since there are no meals to purchase but there will be a very well stocked concession stand offering good snacks at very reasonable prices to buy from the Senior Citizen Board. For all of you who enjoy dancing, this is the place to be as there is a big dance floor provided. There will be good prizes being given away throughout the evening AND even a 50/50 Raffle. The Band is extending a sincere invitation to you all to come out and have a great evening at their first performance at the Pike County Senior Center.

Prayer Requests for This Week: America and the people of America to all turn back to God, continued healing for Connie Garner, Eric Morris and Nic Carter, Janet and Roger Bonnett, and unspoken prayer requests.
In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightening, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. Matthew 28:1-6

Jamie and I went to see my granddaughter Jacqueline Mefford in Springfield at her shop Thursday, April 10, where she gave me a wonderful haircut, and we all had a good, but, short visit It’s always great to see family. She does excellent work, and goes above and beyond to please her clients, if anyone is interested and wants her phone number.
Friday evening, April 11, Jamie and I went to Elsberry, Mo., to watch his granddaughter Shayla Niffen in her high school play OUR TOWN. They all did a super job. Shayla was the narrator which we could tell required immense reading as well as memorization.
Made another trip to Missouri Saturday, April 12. First stop was at the home of Tracy Niffen to spend a little time at the birthday party for Jamie’s great-grandson Oliver Niffen. Then on to music band practice.
Don’t let anyone tell you retirement is dull and nothing to do….NOT TRUE!! Busier now than when I was working full time. Love it all!!
“God doesn’t put you on hold.” Pastor Bob Hutsell. (Don’t you all get so tired of being put on hold at the various businesses and stores, and some of those NEVER answer. So extremely glad our heavenly Father isn’t like that at all.)
Single Seniors is still going on their once a month “meet, eat, and greet” excursions, and it’s never too late to join. Just call me with questions and if interested at 1-217-320-8438.
