Donald Lee Tuey, 86, of Greenfield, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2025 in Jacksonville, surrounded by family.He was born July 10, 1939 in Greene County to Clarence and Mary (Elliott) Tuey. He married Paschia Loy, April 15, 1962, in Greenfield, and she preceded him in death, July 30, 2015.Surviving are his children, Donita Tuey, Lisa Meyer, Rose (Mark) Burnett, Russell Tuey, Tony (Michele) Tuey and Melissa (Gary) Lassiter; his grandchildren, Ashley (Ryan) Tuey, Kyle (Stephanie) Tuey, Christina (Cedric) Burnett, Aime Burnett, Douglas Gray, Nickolas Gray, and Cortney (Kalin) Spencer; his great-grandchildren, Jayce Tuey, Dustin Phillips and Gabriella Phillips; and his brother, James Tuey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his sisters, Anna Mae (Charles) Schmidt, Lois Eileen Tuey and Mildred Faye Tuey; an infant daughter, Tonia Sue; and a granddaughter, Tonya Louise Gray.
Don attended Greenfield Schools, and then went to Kansas City, Missouri to attend auto body repair school. He was a Teamster and worked many years for Valley Steel in Carlinville. He spent his entire life in the Greenfield area and worked for area farmers and scrapped steel to do what he had to, to support a large family. He was known by many and will be missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place Wednesday, Aug. 13, at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Church in Greenfield. A visitation was held from 9 a.m. until time of Mass.
