Laura Jane Phillips | 85 | Greeley, CO

It is with sadness and a deep sense of loss that the family of Laura Jane (Irvine) Phillips of Greeley, CO., formerly of Greenfield, IL., announces her passing into eternal rest.

Laura was born in Moween, Pennsylvania in 1940 to Wilson and Marie (Zagurski) Irvine. She was the oldest of seven children from that union and leaves behind three sisters, Roberta, Dorothy and Carol, and three brothers, Wilson, Steve and David. She is also survived by her husband, Howard Phillips of Greenfield, son Jon Phillips of Charleston, SC. and daughter Janis Hooper of Greeley, CO. Five children called her Grandma: Abby and Emma Phillips of South Carolina and Josh, Danielle and Nicolas Meesey of Colorado.

Laura was a dedicated, highly successful teacher, a high honors scholar in both high school and college, a loving parent, grandparent, and great-grandparent.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025 from 2 until 4 p.m. at the Shields-Bishop Funeral Home in Greenfield. A private burial service will be held at Little Zion Cemetery in Tennyson, IN. at a later date.  Please leave a memory or condolence at shields-bishopfh.com
