Paul H. ‘PK’ Kleinlein | 88 | Chambersburg

Paul H. “PK” Kleinlein, 88 of Chambersburg,  passed away Saturday Sept. 27, 2025 at his home. He was born in Chambersburg on April 12, 1937, the son of the late Herschel and Marie Turner Kleinlein.
He married his sweetheart, Betty Ann Werries, June 5, 1955 at the Lutheran Church in Meredosia, and they celebrated 70 years of marriage together. Paul attended Chambersburg schools and graduated from Meredosia High School. He farmed with his father for 10 years before working for National Starch in Meredosia for 35 years, until his retirement.
He was known by “PK” (potato king) because of his ability to grow potatoes. Paul also worked as the Assessor for Pike County, sold Pioneer Seed, was a member of the local Boilermakers Union, and was a Deacon at Chambersburg Christian Church. He loved the outdoors, hunting, trapping, and fishing. He fished most of the ponds in the four-county area. He and Betty loved to travel and explore new areas, visiting all 50 states and 30 different foreign countries.
Surviving are his loving wife Betty at home; sons, Dan Paul (Mary Lou) Kleinlein of St. Joseph, Missouri and Rex Lynn (Shari) Kleinlein of Exeter; five grandchildren, Andrew Joseph (Amber) Kleinlein, Joseph Paul (Krystin) Kleinlein, John Daniel (Courtney) Kleinlein, Lauren Anastasia (Matthew) Durmeier, Scott Michael (Khrysta Oleson) Kleinlein; and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother Richard Kleinlein.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 3, at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Chapel in Griggsville. Burial was in Oakland cemetery in Meredosia. The family met with friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Friday. Memorial contributions can be made to the Chambersburg Christian Church or to the Pike County Sheriff’s Department.
