Carroll Henry Menke | 90 | St. John’s, FL

Carroll Henry Menke, 90, of St. John’s, FL, and formerly of Pleasant Hill, IL, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025 in Florida.Carroll was born May 9, 1935 in Louisiana, MO, a son of Harold and Almira Menke. He married Wyvetta Williams on Sept. 5, 1954.
Carroll graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in 1953 as a three sport, 12 letterman athlete. He served as an officer of Trinity Lutheran Church in Louisiana, MO and was a current member of Celebration Lutheran Church in Fruit Cove, FL. Carroll farmed for 35 years outside of Rockport, IL and then worked as secretary and treasurer for the Pike County Water District until his retirement in 1999. He had been a member of the Pleasant Hill Park Board, Pike County Fair Board, Pleasant Hill School Board, and the Pleasant Hill Lions Club.
He is survived by his children, Debra Weier of Florida, Melvin (Melissa) Menke of Texas, and Alvin (Laura) Menke of North Carolina, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Carroll was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, JoAnna Taylor, and his wife, Wyvetta.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3405 Georgia Street in Louisiana, MO. Burial will follow at Crescent Heights Cemetery in Pleasant Hill.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crescent Heights Cemetery in c/o of John Thomas, PO Box 153, Pleasant Hill, IL, 62366.
