I usually save this part of my column for toward the end but this past week Kampsville lost a great man. Who did so much for so many that I felt this is how my column needed to start by paying a tribute to someone who made an incredible difference . Whether it be how active he was in the North Calhoun fire department going above and beyond are just stepping up to help in any situation that was Junior Looper. Following the 2019 flood. Junior and his wife Sharon donated their ground so that the fire department could move out of floodplain. I can’t even begin to tell you the impact that this man has made on so many he was also always so good to visit when you saw him at the coffee shop or just out and about. He will be missed. Please keep his wife, Sharon and children Von and Kirby, grandchildren Gwen, Gretchen, Kris and Katie as well as his great grandchildren in your prayers.
As I write this, I’m sure all the kids and teachers are enjoying their Christmas break and I would like to wish all of my readers a merry Christmas from my family to yours.
Warrior basketball will be busy over the break. Both girls and boys will be participating in the Carlinville holiday tournament. The boys defeated Greenfield at home and even the Grinch showed up to help cheer on the crowd.
Queen of Hearts resumes January 9.
Please continue prayers for Billie Jo Eickmeyer, Kiera Sievers, Isabel McGlaughin, Kurt Roth, Mary Ann Gress, Sue Aderton, Diane Rose, Stella Schultz, Kathryn Chapman, Connor Gilman, Joyce Blumenberg, Liz Schleicher. Luanne Baalman and Lisa Watters as well as all those who are struggling this holiday season.
