Dale Gordon Brant | 94 | Jacksonville
Dale Gordon Brant, of Jacksonville and The Villages, Florida, passed into eternal life with Jesus Christ on Jan. 14, 2026.
Dale was born May 24, 1931, in Carrollton, Illinois to Evalyn (Bushnell) Maury and was raised by his grandparents Lucretia and Dean Bushnell of Eldred, who instilled in him a strong sense of duty and responsibility. He married Carolyn (Mackey) Brant in 1954; she preceded him in death. They lived in Roodhouse for many years.
He is survived by his son, Steven (JoAnne) Brant, and his grandchildren, Christopher and Rachel.
Dale graduated from Carrollton High School in 1948 and attended the University of Illinois before enlisting in the United States Army, where he served in the Korean War. He carried that sense of duty with him throughout his life.
After returning home, Dale worked for Anderson Clayton & Co. in Jacksonville for more than 24 years and later as plant manager at White House Manufacturing Corporation in White Hall, retiring in 1999. He was known as a fair and dependable leader.
In later years, Dale split his time between Illinois and Florida. He enjoyed playing golf and, most importantly, spending time with family and friends.
A visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Daws Family Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with Masonic rites beginning at 11 a.m., followed by funeral services and interment at Fernwood Cemetery in Roodhouse.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Roodhouse or Shriners Children’s Hospital.
