St. Anslem’s Game Day will be held March 1st Doors open at 12 games begin at 1. St. Anslem’s will also be raffling Quilts that were quilted by Judy Benz, Cecelia Hayn, Helen Vetter, Sherri Klunk and Maymie Petrowski. Tickets are available at the back of St. Francis of Assisi Church and the Bank of Kampsville, Kampsville location.
Congratulations to Jeff Kamp for being nominated for the 2025 ICA- 8 – 2A Softball Coach of the Year.
Congratulations to Lane Eilerman on his 1000 career points scored Friday night at the 103rd Annual Winchester Tournament during the game against the Staunton Bull Dogs. Lane is an amazing athlete and definitely a joy to watch to play. He was also chosen All Tournament. It was a close game and Calhoun only lost by a few. Calhoun went on to take third place on Saturday afternoon against the Brown County Hornets. First place was won by the Staunton Bulldogs in another close game against Routt. Congratulations Staunton, they are coached by a familiar name to all of us here in Kampsville Ty Laux, who grew up here. In his younger years right here as a Kampsville Cougar coached by Coach Redeye Schumann.
The Winchester tournament started out this year in Winchester, but due to some structural damage in their gym, had to be moved mid tournament to Bluffs. The town of Bluffs was completely overrun with cars, parking everywhere and a few busy days. But everyone was super friendly and accommodating.
Calhoun FFA Alumni Auction will be held Feb. 7 at the KC Hall in Hardin. Doors open at 5 p.m., dinner will be served from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Silent auction begins at 5 live auction begins at 6:30 p.m.
The FFA also currently has their Strawberry sales going on orders are due by Feb. 20 and will be delivered the first part of March. Anyone needing to place an order and don’t know an FFA member shoot me a message or give me a call and I will get you with a member and get your strawberries ordered.
Gift of Hope Trivia Night Feb. 14at the KC Hall at 7 p.m. All proceeds going to the Mid-America transplant team. Anyone wanting to reserve a table please reach out to Molly Caselton 618-535-9302.
The 5/6th Grade Warrior Basketball Team is currently taking orders for Dukes bakery donuts to help with the cost of their uniforms. They are $15 a dozen orders are due by February 2 and will be delivered February 19 anyone wanting donuts let me know. We will get you taken care of.
Congratulations to Tim Carmody on his retirement from Burris Seed Company. Tim was the guest of honor at a surprise party Saturday night at Straight Home.
