Nancy Kay Ontis, 67, of Nutwood, IL, passed away Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025 at her home with family by her side.She was born Nov. 21, 1958 to Edward C. and Nelda B. (Lawrence) Masiero.
She married Ray Ontis September 17, 1976 in Wood River; they enjoyed 49 years of marriage. Nancy retired from Jerseyville Hospital in April of 2024 after 31 years of service.
In her free time, she enjoyed collecting cookie jars, gardening, bird watching, and taking pictures. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and proudly watching her boys compete in demolition derbies.
She is survived by her husband, Ray Ontis of Nutwood; mother, Nelda Masiero of Godfrey: three sons, Brian (Rachel) Ontis of Nutwood, Kevin (Kara) Ontis of Nutwood and Joey (Stefanie) Ontis of Carrollton; six grandchildren, Anna, Katie, Hailee, Kylee, Lynzee and Karson; brother, John (Shelley) Masiero of Godfrey; brother in law, Jeff Hartley of Cottage Hills and sister in law, Karen Masiero of Cottage Hills.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Masiero; brothers, Jim and Steve Masiero and sister, Janice Hartley.
The family invites you join them on Jan. 24, 2026 at 1 p.m. for a Celebration of Life for Nancy at the Fieldon United Church of Christ. The dinner will be a potluck style meal bring your favorite dish and memories of Nancy.”
