Parade organizers could not have chosen a better couple as parade marshals to represent the city of White Hall at the 87th Lions Club Annual Homecoming Parade than Rob and Mona McMillen.
Both are life-long residents of White Hall and earlier in the week celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary. They are the proud parents of a son, Brennan (wife Emily) and the very proud grandparents of a two-year-old granddaughter named Saylor.
They also both have a long history of service to the community and to the city of White Hall. Mona has been an employee of the city in the office for the past 39 years and will be retiring on October 1.
Rob started his carer in law enforcement as a patrolman for the White Hall Police Department in 1990 and was promoted to Chief of Police in 1992.
After serving over 20 years as Police Chief, he decided to expand the area he served and ran, and was elected, Greene County Sheriff in 2010. He has held this position for the past 16 years and will be retiring from this position in November after a total of 36 years serving the people of Greene County.
After their retirement, the McMillen’s say they are looking forward to doing some traveling, spending more time with family and will continue to stay active in the community.
“We would like to thank the community for supporting each of us in our respective roles and we are humbled and honored to serve as this year’s White Hall Lions Club Homecoming Parade Marshals,” Rob McMillen said.
