Brenda graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in 1971. In 1976, Brenda graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Accounting and a year later obtained her Certificate in Public Accounting. Brenda spent most of her adult life living in the St Louis, Missouri area. She briefly taught at Parkway South High School and spent over 20 years working for Drury Hotels at their corporate headquarters.Brenda loved spending time with her four grandchildren: playing with them when they were little, baking with them, and attending their school, sporting, and Scout events as they got older. In 2021, Brenda reconnected with Steve Bowman at her 50th High School Class Reunion. Their courtship started with a contest over who knew the history of Belleview better. In January of 2022, Brenda and Steve married and Brenda returned to Belleview, living not far from where she spent time as a child. She also returned to the same high school she attended to work as a substitute teacher and teacher’s aide. Brenda loved working at Pleasant Hill High School and regretted being unable to return to her work helping students.
Brenda leaves behind a loving husband, Steve Bowman; sons, Ryan (Lisa) and Eric (Kim); grandchildren, Jaelyn, Zachary, Marley and Ian; sisters, Debbie (Jack) and Annie (Troy); nephews Chad (Autumn) and Kyle (Leah); and niece Katie.
Brenda is at peace now, having returned to God’s loving arms, and is likely dancing with her parents and watching over her loved ones with a smile on her face and love in her heart.
