IDNR Fisheries Biologists Blake Ruebush and Rob Bartlett recently discussed how to manage rural agricultural ponds with JWCC Natural Resource Management students. The U of I Orr Research Farm pond was sampled using electrofishing techniques to see fish species composition, fish condition, and species abundance. This information is used to make stocking and management recommendations to keep the fish population healthy.
