The Calhoun Growth Association welcomed Two Rivers Coffee Company as new members at their meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 30.
During the meeting the status of the Joe Page Bridge was also discussed. Ann Prothro shared information that the Community Advisory Group will be working with the project study team to address the project purpose and needs at an upcoming meeting. Meeting minutes will be available to the public following the discussion.
The Calhoun Growth Association also announced that their website will soon be complete and is nearing the final stages. Once finished, the growth association will use the website to establish the CGA as a critical point of contact and source of information for the entirety of Calhoun County.
Available grants were also discussed at the Tuesday meeting. The USDA has grants available to counties, villages, businesses and organizations. The State of Illinois has a Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure Grant to support building local food systems and a local grocer grant has been announced to help preserve access to fresh foods.
The growth association is also encouraging individuals to complete the Flood Impact Survey, which can be found at https://forms.gle/U239Fn9C7MqTtjDL8.
The next Calhoun Growth Association will be held on Tuesday, March 12, at 5:30 at the U of I Extension Office in Hardin.
