Celebrate Easter this weekend
Sympathy is extended to the family of Patty Curry who recently passed away. Patty will be dearly missed by family, friends and all those little ones she cared for in her home daycare. May she rest in peace.
The Griggsville Nazarene Church will host an Easter egg hunt for children 1-10 years of age March 30 at 1.p.m. Pictures with the Easter Bunny will be taken.
Holy Week and Easter services with the Bright Star Parish of the United Methodist Church are as follows:
Holy Thursday service, 3/28 at 7 p.m., at the Perry UMC. Communion will be served.
Good Friday service, 3/29 at 7 p.m., at the Griggsville UMC.
Easter Sunday sunrise service at Cedar Cave (near Detroit) at 6 a.m.
Perry UMC will host an Easter worship service at 6 a.m.
Griggsville will have a community Easter service hosted by the Church of the Nazarene at 7a.m. Breakfast will follow.
New Salem UMC will hold Easter worship service at 7:30 a.m.
Regular worship services will be held at Perry UMC at 9 a.m. and at Griggsville UMC at 10:30 a.m. All are welcome!
Congratulations to the GP FFA Ag Mechanics Team in their latest competition last Thursday. This team consists of Jack Shoemaker, Gabby Shoemaker, Kyle Waters and Landon Jones. Jack won first place and has advanced to the state level of competition. Way to work!GP-PTO will host its annual fundraiser Battle of the Bands Trivia Night April 6th at the Griggsville American Legion. Entry fee is $80/team. Teams can consist of up to eight people. There will be 10 rounds with 10 questions each. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Trivia starts at 6 p.m. Contact [email protected] with questions or stop at the North Pike District Library for printed registration forms.
The Mt. Sterling Community Center YMCA will be hosting its monthly Giggle and Wiggle Toddler Open Gym March 29. Come jump, run, and play with your toddler during our open gym time! Giggle and Wiggle will feature gross motor equipment especially designed for littlest members and friends. This event will happen from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. and is open to kids ages Birth – Pre-K. Parents or caregivers must accompany toddlers. Stop at the Welcome Desk to sign in upon arrival. 0The Y will also be hosting Kids Night Out April 6. This will be an after-hours party at the Y filled with games, snacks, and activities. Hours will be 4pm – 7pm. To register, visit their website at mtsterlingymca.net/register. These YMCA events are open to both Griggsville and Perry families!
The Pike County Animal Shelter is in need of newspaper and paper towels if you have any to share. The four-legged friends who live there would really appreciate it!
