Congratulations to Emma Hagen who graduated recently from Lindenwood Iniversity in St Charles, MO.
She graduated with two B A degrees, one in Business Administration with an emphasis in Business Law and B A in Human Resource Management. She also graduated Magna Cum Laude and was one of the 39 seniors recognized with University Honors, the highest academic distinction awarded at graduation. She is the daughter of Dave & Kata Hagen of Meppen and granddaughter of Roy and Barb Hagen of Brussels.
Congratulations to Jordan and Marley Ohlendorf on the birth of their first child, a baby girl on May 13. Sure weighed 5 lbs 3 ounces, 17 inches long and has been given the name Wrigley Shay.
Grandparents are John and Mary Ohlendorf of Golden Eagle.
Congratulations to Payson Camerer who completed the Training Program with International Operating Engineers Local 513 in Silex, MO. On Saturday he received his diploma at the Training Center for a career in Heavy Equipment Operation. He is currently employed by Kolb Excavating.
Attending the ceremony were his mother Melissa Clark and husband Jim, his grandfather Alan Tepen and Payson’s girlfriend.
Maggie Toppmeyer was honored on Sunday, May 17 with a bridal shower at the Brussels American Legion Hall. Family members and close friends enjoyed the delicious Brunch, followed by Maggie opening her many gifts. She will become the bride of Josh Wieneke of Hardin on June 20 at St Mary
: Church in Brussels. Maggie is the daughter of Mark and Mary Toppmeyer of Golden Eagle.
Deepest sympathy to the family of Virginia “Ginger”Snow who passed away on April 15 at the age of 92 in Summerville, South Carolina. She married Kenneth Snow of Hardin in June of 1960.
Preceded in death by her parents Ben and Kate Pohlman, her husband Kenneth,sister Celeste Pluester, brothers Robert, Anthony and Richard Pohlman. She is survived by her daughter Barbara (John) Mirdo and grandson Matthew of Larson, S.C., as well as many nieces, and nephews. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date at St Norbert Church in Hardin.
Art in the Park at Heritage Park in Brussels will be held on Saturday, June 14 from 10 AM until 2 PM. This event is sponsored by the South Calhoun Library
and its board members. Many vendors will be present.
