Elementary Halloween parade today at 2
The Griggsville-Perry Elementary Halloween parade will be tomorrow at 2pm. GP would love to have your business participate in passing out store-bought, individually wrapped treats! (Please ensure your treats are peanut-free.) If the weather is nice, the school kids will parade uptown. If the weather is too cold/rainy, the parade will be moved to the high school gymnasium. An announcement will be made on the day of the parade. Approximately 160 students will be in the parade. As always, your support is appreciated!
Trick-or-Treat hours for the City of Griggsville will be 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Oct. 30 and 31. Participating houses should have their porch lights on. Have fun!

I received a phone call from Patty (Lister) Norton. She wanted to share that Griggsville native, Susan (Wade) Barr and her husband, Tom, suffered great amounts of damage to their home in Lyons, Ga. during hurricane Helene. The Barrs had no water, sewer or electricity for ten days and there was no gasoline available for a week. They also had 20 pine trees lining their property and the majority of those fell on the roof of their home. They currently have a tarp on their roof and their yard is a disaster, but no one was hurt, thankfully. Please keep Susan and Tom in your prayers as they rebuild their home and property in the coming months.
The Pike County Animal Shelter would like to remind everyone if they have extra blankets, towels, hand towels, wash rags or dog houses that you do not use anymore, the Shelter will take them off your hands. Items can be dropped off at 909 N. Jackson St. in Pittsfield or call 217-285-4811 and they will come to you and pick them up.
