The Calhoun County Historical Society will be holding their annual dinner meeting on Tuesday, April 22, at the Fill Inn Station in Batchtown at 6 p.m.
In observance of the Calhoun County Bicentennial, board members will be sharing anecdotes about the county’s history from newspaper articles published between 1875-1925.
The dinner will be a buffet style meal of fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and slaw plus a drink. The public is invited to attend and the cost is $13 a person.
The historical society is always accepting new members to help support their efforts. Membership dues are $15 annual, family annual memberships are $25 and lifetime memberships are also available for $125.
For more information on becoming a member or purchasing tickets for the annual dinner meeting contact Emerson Retzer at 618-535-4945, Tina Pluester at 618-576-2660 or Marietta Nolte at 618-883-3126.
