The Logan Agri-Service Veterans Memorial Park fundraiser ends this Saturday! Be sure to fill up your tank one more time before Saturday as Logan Ag will donate three cents per gallon of gas from all retail sales (Griggsville site only) to the Memorial Park being built. Thanks so much, Ed and crew!
The City of Griggsville is selling bricks to help raise funds for the Veterans Memorial Park. Forms are available on the City’s website at www.griggsville-il.org. Bricks are $125 each and will consist of three lines that are fourteen characters per line. The deadline to purchase a brick is March 31, 2026. If you have questions, please call the City of Griggsville at 217-833-2412.
Due to last weekend’s winter weather, the workday at the Perry library branch was postponed and rescheduled for THIS Saturday, Jan. 31, beginning at 8:30 a.m. If you can make it, the library board would greatly appreciate the help!
The Griggsville-Perry School District is offering a Stem Exploration After-School Program on the first and third Wednesdays of the month (Feb. 4, Feb. 18, March 4, March 18, Apr 1, and April 15) from 3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. Attend one or all sessions, but advance registration is required. This program is open to students in grades fifth through eighth grade and will focus on science and tech activities, as well as career exploration. For more information, email [email protected].
GPHS homecoming 2026 is set for Feb. 7. This year’s theme is “Let the Games Begin.” Following is the Homecoming schedule: noon – GP After Prom begins serving pulled pork meal for a freewill donation. 1 p.m. – JV tipoff vs Bushnell Prairie City in Nichol Gymnasium with the GPMS Color Guard performing at halftime. Directly following the JV game will be the varsity tipoff vs BPC with the Tornado cheerleaders performing at halftime. Homecoming Coronation will be at 6:30 p.m with the homecoming dance to follow from 7 p.m.-1 pm. Make plans to be in the Nic Feb. 7 to celebrate homecoming!
Continuing with the HoCo theme, the Tornado cheer squad and Student Council invite the community to participate in the third annual Homecoming decorating contest. Decorate your store front or porch in the 2026 HoCo theme (“Let the Games Begin!”). Judging will take place Feb 3. Completed registration forms should be sent in by Jan. 30.
