The North Calhoun Fire Department received the Hometown Hero Award Wednesday evening at the Illinois River Dock Restaurant. A very deserving award for some of the greatest people I know. Modern Woodmen will also be offering matching funds to benefit the Fire Department please visit the fish and funnel cake stand at Old Settlers Days October 14 and 15. They will also have 50-50 available.
Congratulations to Lex Johnson who graduated from basic training last week from Port Charlotte. Mom and Dad Shannon and Jeanette and sister Layla and brother Liam, Aunt Cassie Cox and Grandma’s Brenda Johnson and Debbie Lewis also attended.
Happy Anniversary to Mayor Amanda and Ed Johnson on August 31.
Due to the deadline it’s a very short column this week but I’m sure I’ll have lots to report next week from the Calhoun County Fair.
Please continue prayers for Larry and Anita Siemer, Cassie Blackwell, Jerry Crader, Kathryn Chapman, Bob Banghart, Bruce Williams, Justin Williams, Joyce Blumenberg, Raymond Sievers, Isabel McGlaughin, Kurt Roth, Connor Gilman, Margie Smith, Sue Aderton and Bev Mosbarger.
