Today was Game Day. It was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall Sunday, Aug. 24. It was sponsored by the Batchtown Woman’s Club. The doors opened at 11 a.m. There was a good crowd. The food served was chicken salad sandwiches, dumplings, noodles, hot dogs, and homemade pies and cakes, coffee, tea and water.

Circus coming to town this weekend Is Autumn coming a bit early folks, I’m not quite sure as this can be a hint before a few more hot and humid days but bring it on! Corn is rustlin’ and the crickets are chirpin’ pretty good outside my window, such an inviting sound!

Bible study starts at UMC Monday, Sept 2 The Griggsville United Methodist Church invites all to attend a weekly Bible study series exploring The Ten Commandments by Life Guide Bible Studies. Hymn singing this coming Friday Everyone is invited to the Hymn Sing at the Detroit Christian Church a week from this Friday, Aug. 29, at 7 p.m. No admission cost whatsoever. Just come and enjoy and participate. After the Sing, ice cream and fellowship is to follow.

Since there was no Point News last week you probably figured I was out of town for the week. I heard temperatures were in the mid to upper 90’s and high humidity so didn’t miss that at all.

It was sure a hot day for the Kampsville Summer Celebration but that didn’t stop the fun. The awesome Kampsville Legion started us out frying delicious fish sandwiches and chips.
