It is August with hot summer and cooler evenings, the summertime is passing, and the children are looking forward to vacation being over and school days approaching. We’re getting outdoors and are still enjoying the summer we still have.

It was hot this week but changed over the weekend giving us the cooler weather from the heat and helped picnic goers enjoy the Meppen Picnic Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 2nd, and 3rd. After the 4 p.m. Mass, the picnic began at 5 p.m. with the traditional food favorites at St. Joseph’s Hall.
