Support the Eagles this Saturday
The Eagle baseball parents will host a cookout this Saturday, Aug. 16, in Perry at the ball diamond as the Eagles take on Southeastern at 10am. They will offer burger/chips, and hot dog/chips, while drinks, candy and popcorn will be available at the concession stand. Proceeds go to the GPMS Eagle baseball program.
In one week Aug. 20., Blue 10-41 Coffee will hold its grand opening. Deals and prizes will be posted on their Facebook page (Blue 10-41 Coffee LLC), so be sure to check those out! Be sure to make a stop by the shop Aug. 20.
The Griggsville-Perry Athletic Boosters are holding a raffle for a chance to win a pair of “Golden Tickets” allowing the winners free entrance into all G-P regular season home games held in Griggsville or Perry. For $10 you may purchase a chance to win with the winners being drawn Sept. 1st. Boosters have two pair of tickets available! You may purchase your chance to win from any of the following Booster Executive Committee members: Stephanie Dehart, Annette Lipcaman, Rebecca Kurfman, Bethany Dunham, Hilary Allen, Jaime Liehr or Carrie Bradshaw.
The Griggsville United Methodist Church invites all to attend a weekly Bible study series exploring The Ten Commandments by Life Guide Bible Studies. This study will begin Sept. 2 and will continue each Tuesday evening through Nov.18. Sessions will begin at 7 p.m. in the church’s Good Shepherd Hall. This study will offer a deep look at the meaning, purpose, and enduring relevance of God’s commandments in our modern world and is open to everyone regardless of background or prior Bible knowledge.
Quincy Medical Group is hosting the Fifth Annual Man Up – Men’s Health Event Sept. 6 from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at South Park in Quincy (1664 S. 12th St.). Several free screenings will be offered, as well as an opportunity to speak with different medical professionals.
The 53rd annual Griggsville Apple Festival’s Car and Tractor Show is set for Sept. 20 with registration from 8 a.m.-11 a.m. and awards given at noon. A variety of awards will be given as well as dash plaques for the first 50 participants. Plan on being in Griggsville the 20!
Sign-ups are open for this year’s Johnny Appleseed and Miss Apple Blossom contest at the Griggsville Apple Festival. If your child is four to six years of age the day of the contest and lives in the old Griggsville School District, they are eligible to participate. Deadline to sign up is Sept. 5th by 6pm. A group photo and practice will be held at the stage on Sept. 10 at 6 p.m. Contact Gina Sheurman at 217-257-4072 to sign up.
