The Chambersburg Christian Church will host their annual chicken dinner this Thursday, Aug. 26. Carry-outs begin at 3:30, with dine-in beginning at 4:30. There will be limited indoor dining and new this year will be tents for outdoor dining. Bring your neighbor and come on down! Great food and fellowship!
The Griggsville Apple Festival will be here before you know it! Here is the information on the Little Johnny Appleseed and Miss Apple Blossom contest: The children must be 4-6 years of age and live in the old Griggsville school district. If you would like to enter your child in the contest, you should call Angie Vinyard at (217) 357-5233 or Becky Turnage at (217) 833-2737.
GPMS Eagles Cheerleaders fundraiser will be a drive-thru at the Moose, located at 109 W. Washington Street in Pittsfield on Saturday, Aug. 28 beginning at 11 a.m. until they sell out. Come support our cheerleaders while enjoying a pork chop sandwich!
Steve and Jeannie Kessinger enjoyed a visit from their daughter Kyra Koltveit and her children Ellie and Emmet last week. The kids enjoyed some time in the swimming pool with Papa Steve, Grandma Jeannie, and Aunt Lexi.

Congratulations goes out to Ryan Cooley and Allison Kessinger of Mt. Sterling on the birth of their son born Friday, Aug 20. Hudson Wayne Cooley weighed in at 7 lbs. 1 oz. and was 19 inches long. Grandparents are Amy Slight of Griggsville, Joey Kessinger and Katy Downs of Rushville, Earl and Connie Cooley of Versailles, and Linda Hill of rural Mt. Sterling. Great-grandparents are Dewayne and Nadine Kessinger and Shelia Slight all of Griggsville. Hudson also has a great-great-grandma, Thelma Butler of Griggsville. Happy belated birthday wishes go out to Sharon Smith who celebrated her birthday Aug. 23!
