Well winter is here and this cold snap temporarily has our Ferry shut down due to the ice in the river. Hopefully it will thin and move out quickly.
Another holiday season is in the books in our village. A huge thank you to Chuck Titus, Bob Gardner, Mark Becker, Jon Wankel, and Robert Parmenter for taking the Christmas decorations off of the light poles.
Dennis, Judi and Brooke celebrated the annual Neese family Christmas Sunday at the farm. Dennis’s mom from Pleasant Hill, brother Drew and Pittsfield. Sister Dee Dee and Ron from South Roxana. DJ and Heather with three boys from Edwardsville. Dustin, Stacey and two children from Nebo. Jeff and Kelsi with their son from New Canton. Tammy, Mallory and family were unable to attend. They were missed. But they sure had a great time and hope everyone is able to get together again soon.

Happy 10 birthday to my grandson Hayden on Jan. 10.
Way too much loss in our community in the past weeks.
Larry Sams passed away Jan. 2 at his home. I got to know Larry and his wife Carol when I used to wait on them at the Landing and then Louies’. When they first started coming to Kampsville they had a clubhouse here and spent weekends and vacations. After Larry’s retirement they then purchased a home at Silver Creek and moved to Kampsville. I always looked forward to his smile and he always had to give me a hard time, one of my very favorite customers . Sympathy to his wife Carol and daughters Laura, Deatra and Denise. We will miss seeing him.
Gary Roundcount passed away Jan. 4. Gary grew up here in Kampsville. Gary was very active in our community. He was previously the Calhoun Republican Party Chairmen, on the Calhoun Historical Society, and Calhoun Water Board. He was an active board member for McCully Heritage Project.
He had a fun sense of humor and loved the outdoors. Please keep his wife Sandi, daughter Anne Marie (Adam) Hickson, son Jordan (Britney) Roundcount. Granddaughter Madi and siblings Jerome, Kenny, Terry, Diane, Christene and Gloria in your prayers.
Please also keep the families of Bob Clothier, Linda Angel and Jeff Sprong in your prayers for comfort during their time of loss.
Glenda Sidwell is doing better. Flowers by Glenda will remain closed the week of Jan. 10 while she still recovers. I will keep you all posted please continue to keep Glenda in your prayers as well as.
