Mark and Becky Winner of Pittsfield recently returned from a trip to Florida. They left the Monday after Christmas. In the Florida they visited the Panhandle Pioneer Settlement. Next was a boat ride at the Wakulla State Park, just south of Tallahassee, where they saw a lot of alligators. Also in that location, they visited the Natural Bridge Battlefield Historic Site. After a drive from the Texas Panhandle to the Atlantic Coast, they explored the St. Augustine Lighthouse, went to Blue Springs State Park, where the manatees are supposed to spend the cold weather. They saw very few manatees and the ones that were there were on the other side of the river. They spent several days in Merritt Island where Becky’s sister Jody Cummings lives with her husband Jim. Their daughter, Jamie. and her husband. Nori Kono. were visiting. From there they headed to Fort Lauderdale, stopping at two more lighthouses along the way Next came another boat ride, this time on an airboat. At Orlando they visited an aquarium and attended a magic dinner theater. The third boat ride was a glass-bottomed boat at Silver Springs State Park.
