The weather is beautiful as we start the month of May. We are enjoying the long evenings and the spring with flowers and the trees blooming with dogwood, and Red bud trees dotting the landscape.
Levi, and Leila Schulte celebrated their 14 birthday at their home with their parents, Alex and Justine, sister Alexi, and grandparents Eldon and Christine Johnes. They enjoyed the day. We wish them a happy year.
Adam Tepen enjoyed his 30 birthday on April 27. His parents are Ed and Chris Tepen. We wish Adam a wonderful year.
Birthday greetings to Abner Hillen who was 12 on April 30. He celebrated at his home with parents Justin and Traci, and siblings Franci, Helen, and Sylvie, grandparents, Terry and Robbie Strauch, and Bernie and Robin Hillen, Uncle Tad Strauch, and Grady Pohlman. Abner’s birthday was enjoyed by all. We wish him a happy year.
Happy 26 Wedding Anniversary to Bernard and Patricia Johnes who celebrated on April 27. We wish you many more happy years together.
Congratulations to Andrew Friedel who made his First Communion on June 30. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeremy Friedel and the grandson of Mark and Jeanne Friedel.
Lauren Bick wife of Trent Bick of Jerseyville was honored with a baby shower Sunday, May l at the WOW Restaurant in Jerseyville. His parents Tim and Kelly Bick of Batchtown were there. It was well attended by family and friends. We wish you great happiness.
Many of the local high school students enjoyed the annual prom this past week.
Bill Tepen continues to receive therapy after a recent stay at St. Luke’s Hospital. We continue to hope for his quick recovery and return to good health.
The St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry and Clothing Store is open every Wednesday and Thursday from 11 A.M. to 3 P.M
St. Vincent DePaul helps with rent, utilities, GED, mortgage, and contacts with other agencies. The volunteer hot line number is 1-618-310-1141.
Mackenzie Cranmer is attending Columbia College, Mo. and is working towards a career as a Doctor’s Assistant. She is in weight Lifting competition at college. Her grandmother Shelly Sievers will be there to see her in this competition. Good luck Mackenzie
Kayleigh Cranmer attended the prom at Calhoun High School Sat. night. Grandmother Shelly Sievers as there to see her walk in her gown. A very memorable event.
Mike and Linda Funk and Linda Donet visited with Elaine Titus and Brian Rose on Wednesday. Linda Donet is here visiting from California. She enjoyed visiting with friends and eating at the Fill Inn Station.
The Batchtown Woman’s Club will meet on Wednesday, May 11 for their night out supper together at the Fill Inn Station in Batchtown at 6:30 P.M.
The Methodist Church in Batchtown has Bible Class at 9 A.M. every Wednesday morning in their church basement. Everyone is welcome.
