I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day. The weather was gorgeous. Perfect day to take Mom out or Grill. Don’t forget the Village Campground is open.
At the April Kampsville Board Meeting Lindsey Taul presented a proposal to the Kampsville Village Board meeting to name the Veterans Park to honor former Mayor Redeye Schumann. At the May meeting the board unanimously voted that on August 20, we will do a Celebration Ceremony and the park will be renamed “The Schumann Veterans Memorial Park.” We are all currently working on this Ceremony as well as a whole day of fun filled Summer Celebration Fun!
Calhoun Swimming Pool News: With a free swim day everyone who comes to the pool on a sponsored day gets to swim for free. Anyone wanting more information or wanting to sponsor a day please contact Craig Johnson. The kids look forward to the Calhoun Swimming Pool during the Summer. Thanks to dedicated volunteers and generous donations from businesses and individuals. We are fortunate to keep it going.
Congratulations to Marty Johnson on winning the t-shirt design contest for the Raft Race.
Congratulations Laina Bennet on being chosen as Carrollton Prom Queen. Laina is the daughter of Ryan and Cassie Cox and proud Grandparents are Kenny and Brenda Johnson.
I attended the Tulip Festival in Pella, Iowa this past week with my sister Tammy and brother-in-law Gary. It was absolutely gorgeous.
Congratulations to Andy and Kate (Whitaker) Bland who were married Friday in Wood River.
Happy 18th birthday to Kiarra Meza on May 4.
