Milton Corn Carnival set for Sept. 23-25
The East Pike Class of 72 is planning a get together Sept.17 at 6 p.m. at River Bank restaurant in Florence. Besides wanting all classmates to attend, anyone, older or younger that was in school with us, is welcome to join us. Text 217-491-0460 for more information.
Donations of household items will be accepted by Milton-Pearl HCE Wednesday, Sept. 21, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday, Sept. 22, 1-5 p.m. Bring your donations to the community center. The money earned at the flea market during the Corn Carnival has been used to help support things like the community centers in Milton and Pearl, Christmas Basket program, Honor Flight, Unmet Needs, 4-H trophies and other community projects. Thank you in advance for your donations.
The Milton Corn Carnival is September 23-25. If anyone is interested in volunteering please call or text Ashlee Nash at 217-370-8524. Pageants are Friday evening. To sign up for the Baby Contest or Little Mr & Mrs, contact Heather Richards at 217-491-2008. The deadline to sign up is the Sept. 17. To sign up for the Jr Miss or Queen contest, contact Julie Boyle at 217-242-9491 The deadline to sign up is Sept. 10. Games for the kids start at 10 a.m. Saturday and the parade begins at 1:30 p.m. More fun activities will follow the parade. For parade information, contact Heather Richards at 217-491-2008. Saturday evenings entertainment is a hypnotist at 7:30 p.m. Come and enjoy Milton’s delicious pork sandwiches, carnival rides, and fun for the whole family!
