Congenital heart defects are the most common birth defect in the nation, impacting ONE in every 110 babies each year. The Children’s Heart Foundation exists to make sure these babies – and everyone impacted by CHDs – live long and healthy lives. Because of research, today there is greater hope for babies born with, and adults living with, congenital heart defects.
Knox Jones and Kynlee Kestner were both born with critical congenital heart disease and had open heart repairs before they were a year old.
The Brown County Heart Warriors team raised $1,240 for CHD research and participated in the STL Congenital Heart walk on Sunday Oct 30th. There were 85 teams registered that raised over $140,000 and more than 500 people attended the walk.
Per the Childrens Heart Foundations website: The 2022 Congenital Heart Walk series will raise critical research funds around 29 cities around the U.S. and via our Nationwide Walk bringing together thousands of walkers, hundreds of teams and thousands of donors in the fight against CHDs.
Those attending were Knox & Kelsey jones of mt sterling and Jennifer Liehr of Perry.
Attendees included Knox Jones with Kelsey Jones and Jennifer Liehr and Kynlee Kestner with Kimberly Kestner, and family.
