Winter weather has sure been piping in this last week. Guess you better not let the fire go out or you’ll be having icicles on your nose by mornin’!
Pleasant Hill Community Club is once again having their Christmas Toy Drive, they will accept new/gently used toys, clothing and monetary donations, there are flyers up in local businesses. They will be accepting items this evening at the club building (Old Lions club) and also will have another drop off date for Nov. 27 1 p.m.-7 p.m. If you are able to help in any way it will definitely be appreciated. The Community club has done an excellent job of doing some awesome events in our community and giving back!
American Legion will be hosting a fish fry this coming Sunday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Please go and support the legion. Also they are getting quite slim on members and are trying to keep the legion active so if anyone would like to join please show up down there or may contact one of the members.
The Nebo Nazarene will be hosting a Mobile Food Pantry next Tuesday, Nov. 22, from 10:30 a.m.-noon. Please register by calling Darin Workman at (217)734-2803 or Catholic Charities(217)222-0958, ext 18. Must register today.
The blaze orange will be the popular color this weekend with the shotgun season in full force Friday through Sunday. Be on the lookout for running deer! Maybe more so than usual anyway.
First Baptist Church will host the Salt River Boys who will provide Bluegrass Gospel Worship, Sunday Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. A Thanksgiving meal will be served at 5 p.m. prior to Bluegrass Gospel Worship.
It is reported by his sister that Bill Moyers is now in Eastside Healthcare in Pittsfield and may send him a card there at 1400 E. Washington St, Pittsfield, 62363
Also Sue and Leon Holcomb have had Covid and are recuperating. Sue said Leon was feeling worse than she was. Hoping they are well by now. May you all get well real soon.
It is with sadness to hear Bob Kelly passed away, he was quite the ornery cutter and really did have a heart for his community, more than we know. Deepest sympathy to Millie and his family.
Happy 28th Birthday to that dear son of mine, Kendrick Hill, tomorrow! Hope you can enjoy your special day bud!
