For it is one of the most exciting and treasured weeks of the year, do you hear the bells?! This week it seems we are seeking that perfect gift. Well first and foremost that Gift was born and died for you and me, bless our Christ Savior for Everything! And He has given us the most precious gift of our parents, children, grandchildren, siblings and everyone we call dear family and friends. Can I say there is not one material item on the shelves that could hold a candle to what gifts we have right in front of our eyes! Although in my heart Santa is real almost as much as God is real, He fills our hearts with the most love that it can this time of year as we see our babies and loved ones gathered all together so full of smiles, it truly fills our battery of life to it’s fullest when their eyes shine with delight! I’ll tell you I barely remember this material gifts I received, but can fill you with so many memories of so much love at our home and our grandparents on Christmas! I pray you have all felt this on your Christmas Day! For this is also a time of much sadness, as Christmas is a true reminder of what was with those who have gone on before, as it will never be the same again! I cannot tell you enough to take the time with your folks, take the trip, pick up the phone, write that letter, go and see and do, get rid of hate and bitterness, it starts with you! We just have to hold on to the most precious memories and treasure the time they are here, keep in mind that we are all going to face some of the toughest days of our life and you are never prepared I’m telling you. But in my heart I do hear the Bells, I Believe in the true Heart and Meaning of Christmas, just as I spoke to you and everyday is a precious Gift, don’t waste it! I sure hope you hear the Bells too! May each and everyone of you have the most Blessed and Merry Christmas Season!
The First Baptist Church in town will host an intimate Candlelight Lord’s Supper service Saturday, Christmas Eve at 5 p.m. Everyone welcome to attend.
Unfortunately and so sorry to report there are a few condolences to share! Deepest sympathy is extended to the families of Sandy Reeder Goodrich, Pat Smith, Brenda White, Nancy McKinnon, Jeannie McElfresh, Carolyn Pitt and Alex Crowder.
“My idea of Christmas whether old-fashioned or modern is very simple loving others. Come to think of it, why do we have to wait for Christmas to do that?!”
– Bob Hope
