The Legion Membership Caravan came to Kampsville on Friday and the National Vice Commander came to town. It was a packed crowd.
Our Legion is so wonderful, I can’t say enough great things about them. These guys are so active in our community and I work with them on many projects. They are very giving organization, but mostly I have so much respect for them. If not for them making so many sacrifices and fighting for freedom, none of us would have the life we have now.
Our Queen wasn’t found Friday night, so you’re gonna wanna get your ticket.
The FFA participated in the Vet Science Contest on Jan. 19 and won third place. FFA members, Emma won 6th overall, and Samantha Kaufman placed 9th overall.
Miss Calhoun Lucy Kallal did a wonderful job representing Calhoun this past weekend at the Miss Illinois County Fair Queen Pageant in Springfield. She had the most amazing cheer section.
The FFA is currently taking orders for Strawberries up until Feb. 22. Delivery will be the week of March 6.
Congratulations to Kampsville’s very own Coach Rod Hart, along with coaches Trey Hart and Josh Zipprich, and the 8th Grade Warriors on winning first place in the St. John’s Tournament. All tournament selections were Will Lorton, Lane Eilerman and Easton Wallendorf.
Calhoun Warrior Cheerleaders hosted “Take A Charge Against Cancer” night. Friday night at the Calhoun Warrior vs. Routt Rocket Game. The outcome of the game was not exactly what we would’ve liked, but our players and cheerleaders came together to show support and raise awareness that no one has to fight alone.
Calhoun Lady Warriors defeated Beardstown Saturday night, 63-29, in the Hawk Invitational Tournament. Kate Zipprich was the lead scorer with 20 points. It was another great week “To Be A Warrior.”
Calhoun Nursing and Rehab staff enjoyed a much deserved holiday get together Friday Night at Straight Home.
The North Calhoun Fire Department enjoyed their Christmas party Saturday night at Straight Home.
