Lots of Super Bowl fun in Kampsville on Sunday. The Landing, Dicks Riverside and The Legion all had specials and good fun with customers coming out to cheer on their favorite team. It was an awesome game that had everyone on the edge of their seats, or pacing the floor, or standing in front of the TV yelling. When it comes to a Super Bowl, this is exactly how a game should be.

The eighth grade Warrior basketball team headed to the State Tournament in Kankakee on Friday evening to play against Decatur Robinson in the Elite Eight. Although the game didn’t have the outcome we were hoping for, our boys played hard and made Calhoun proud. After arriving in Hardin, they were driven around town on the Firetruck. Great job boys, you made the whole community proud.

We were very saddened in our village Sunday morning on the sudden passing of Betty Grissom. Betty was such a wonderful lady, always pleasant and very talented with making quilts. Please keep her husband, Rich “Wolf,” in your prayers as well as her kids, grandkids and siblings.
