It’s been windy, but the big snow storm predicted didn’t materialize– most of us felt happy about that.
Robin Hillen went to a West Central Food Bank meeting in Peoria, Friday afternoon. All enjoyed the informative meeting.
Martha and Katie Bick attended the Omaha Arts and Crafts show. Katie participated in showing and selling some of her crafts. They enjoyed visiting their cousins while they were there and St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church where they heard a children’s choir that they enjoyed.
The After Prom Committee of Brussels High School is having a can pick up at St. Mary’s parking lot on Saturday, March 4, from 9 a.m. until noon. Everyone who has cans is encouraged to bring them to the fundraiser.
The Lenten season started with Ash Wednesday Services on Feb. 22. at St Barbara in Batchtown. They had an evening service that was well attended.
The Stations of the Cross will be held on the Fridays of Lent at 6:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s in Brussels and St. Norbert’s in Hardin.
Lenten fish fries that are coming up on March 3 at Legion Post 636 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Hardin, March 10 again at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Hardin, March 24 at Legion Post 685 in Brussels and March 31 again at the Brussels Legion.
Charlene Ann Kinder was recently baptized at St. Mary’s Church in Brussels with Father Don Roberts officiating. She’s the daughter of C. J. and Lisa Kinder. Congratulations to you on this special day.
St. Norbert’s School Dinner Auction will be held Saturday, March 4, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Hardin. Doors open at 4 p.m. and the meal is at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $25. This includes a buffet-style dinner, silent and live auction, and card deck raffles, basket raffles and balloon pops. Everyone is welcome.
A Bible Study is being held at St. Francis of Assisi office every Wednesday from Feb. 22 to April 5 from 6 to 7:15 p.m. Everyone is welcome. The course is free of charge and includes study guides. One does not need to register and there isn’t a requirement to attend all sessions.

Irene Wallendorf and friends played cards on Friday and had a good time.
