Lots of library actives for all ages this summer
Today is World Caring Day! According to www.nationaltoday.com, this day was created in 2012 by the World Caring Organization as a way to commemorate those individuals who have made an impact in their communities through acts of kindness. Make it a point to be kind not only today, but every day!
Congratulations to GP’s Colby Tate and Lane Lipcaman on their selection to the Pike County All-Conference Baseball Team! Great work, Gentlemen!
T.J. and Sam Kessinger, Deni Taylor, and Dewayne and Nadine Kessinger traveled to Gillispie, May 25 to attend the eighth grade graduation of Tripp Kessinger.
Deni Taylor celebrated her 10th birthday Memorial Day with a party with family and friends. Deni is the daughter of T.J. and Sam Kessinger of Griggsville and Dennis and Lori Taylor of Rushville.
Stop in at the North Pike District Library to learn about the 2023 summer reading programs available for all age groups. Lots of fun stuff is planned to keep kids reading all summer long!
Jr. Book Club will be held at the North Pike District Library for kids entering third through fifth grades beginning June 6. This will be a combination of a typical story hour and book club with crafts, snacks, read alouds from the book, and discussion about the story. Each participant will receive a copy of the book to read and keep! Jr. Book Club will meet four times throughout the summer at the library. Pre-registration isn’t required, but it is encouraged to make sure enough copies of the book are available. Contact the library at 833-2633 with questions you may have and to pre-register.
The North Pike District Library is also planning to host four “Crafternoon” sessions this summer for middle school and high school students. The first session will be held June 8. Contact the library at 833-2633 for more dates, times and questions. Happy crafting!
Weekly Snack Packs will be available for pick up in both the Griggsville and Perry school buildings during office hours throughout the summer. During summer school weeks, students who participate in the Snack Pack Program will be given a snack pack on a weekly basis. Please stop in or call either office with any questions.
