Hope you are staying cool this week! Temperatures are predicted to be dangerously high. August is the last full month of summer, so hopefully cooler weather will follow soon!
The school year is well underway at Griggsville-Perry! Regular 3:30 p.m. dismissals began Monday and Tornado volleyball began their season last night in Mendon. Eagle baseball and softball continue with their seasons, as well as Tornado golf. Lots of activities happening. Hope to see you out and about!
The GP Snack Pack Program will be passing out fresh produce8/23/23 at 3:15p.m. at both the Perry and Griggsville school buildings. This food distribution is open to anyone in the Griggsville and Perry communities and is made possible by the Central Illinois Food Bank.
Griggsville-Perry School District will be hosting fall preschool screening September 5 from 9am-3pm. This screening is for any child between 2years, 8months and 5-yearrs old that has not been screened before. Call 833-2352 and ask for Lindsay Slight to schedule an appointment.
GP’s Eagle cheerleaders are selling Little Caesars Pizza Kits now through Sept. 15. All proceeds will help pay for cheer uniforms. If you would like to order a kit, please call the Perry office at 236-9161 and ask for cheer sponsor, Ms. Manson.
Lucy Gordon and her son, Kaleb, enjoyed some fun in Springfield before school started. Stops included the Kidzeum, Scheels, Los Rancheros and Starbucks. What a great (and yummy!) way to celebrate the end of summer and the start of a new school year!
The Chambersburg Christian Church Chicken Dinner will be held Aug. 24. Carry outs will begin at 3:30 p.m. with inside dining starting at 4:30 p.m.. This sounds like a great meal you won’t want to miss!
