Sunday is the day for the 30th Annual Kampsville Kids Christmas Party. We are so excited. We have well over 30 raffle baskets and items. Our crew got together and wrapped presents Sunday night at the Kampsville Legion we had a great time and made some fun memories. We are as excited as the kids are for Sunday night to come. Santa will be there. The Grinch will be there. Everyone’s favorite the Treat Walk will return along with kids games, refreshments, the fabulous Hot Cocoa Bar and every kid gets a present. This absolutely could not be done without our committee, and the generous donors and of course the Center for American Archeology who provides us a home for our parties and our Kampsville Legion guys, Sons of the Legion and Auxiliary. Don’t forget I’m gonna need people to bring in treats for the Treat Walk. We can’t wait to see you all.
It’s looking pretty festive in Kampsville. On Wednesday Mayor Amanda, Terry Hausmann, Dennis Johnson, Clayton Titus and Chuck VanVleet put the big tree up. My partner in crime Debby Klunk and I took advantage of the great weather Thursday and got a lot of decorating accomplished at the Schumann Memorial Park, Nina Wilson and Fred helped us. Nina even brought us cookies. That afternoon Mayor Amanda, Dennis Johnson and Peggy and Callie Hall stopped and added little more to it. We got a lot accomplished. Unfortunately, the wind is playing some havoc on our lights and on the tree in The Gazebo. I think I set it up 20 times the other day. We are trying to figure out what we can do to get that fixed. But I’m sure we will accomplish it.
We were not the only ones taking advantage of the good weather. Rob Parameter, Mark and Debby Becker have been busy and the Pavilion looks amazing. Especially when you’re coming across on the Kampsville Ferry and you see it all lit up.
The Calhoun Entertainment Company gave an amazing Christmas Concert Sunday afternoon. They will now begin auditions for the spring musical “Fiddler on the Roof “ which will be held in the Center for American Archeology Gym in March.
Calhoun County Fair Board will have their Annual Fair Board Meeting on Saturday, Dec. 16, at Wittmond’s beginning at 6 p.m.
We still have not found our Queen, get those tickets bought.
Congratulations, Calhoun Warrior boys basketball on your second place win in the Spartan Classic at North Greene.
