G-P High School to turn 100 in March
The middle school in Perry will host #Half the Story Parent Night tonight from 5:30pm-6:30pm in the library. During this event, attendees will learn about teens and technology and how to have healthy emotional digital wellbeing. GP has partnered with #Half the Story, a cutting-edge organization that is globally recognized as a thought leader in digital wellbeing. Their program, Social Media U, will help young people navigate the bridge between emotional wellbeing and digital habits. There will be raffle prizes for those in attendance. This program is being presented at GPMS courtesy of The Tracy Family Foundation. If you have questions, you may contact Ms. Gates or Mr. Capps at the middle school at 217-236-9161.

Good luck and happy reading!
The 50th wedding anniversary celebration of Larry and Nancy Kunzeman that was previously scheduled for Jan. 14 was postponed due to winter weather. A rescheduled date will be set soon.
GP Guidance Counselor Allison Dokey, and any interested GP juniors and seniors, will have the opportunity to attend Illinois Electric Springfield March 20. Students and their counterparts from other Illinois high schools will meet their elected senators and representatives at the State Capitol and learn first-hand about the workings of state government. What a great opportunity for our high schoolers!
The Griggsville school building recently had a couple of exterior doors replaced. The new doors were a much needed upgrade. Pike County Glass, Inc. did a great job with installation!
Did you know the high school wing of the Griggsville school building will turn 100 years old in March of 2024? The original school building burned in 1919 and the current building was opened for learning on March 10, 1924. The Griggsville High School/Griggsville-Perry High School Alumni Association invites the community and alumni alike to a walk-through of the high school wing and the 101-year-old small gymnasium Feb. 10 any time from 12:00pm-1:45pm. The walk-through will precede GP’s Homecoming Coronation and game scheduled for that afternoon and evening. Please plan to stop by, reminisce about your time in high school, and have a piece of birthday cake. We would love to see you! Happy Birthday, GPHS!
Keep yourself and your pets warm this week! I’d love to hear from you!
