An optimist sees light at the end of the tunnel.
A realist sees a freight train.
The train driver sees 3 idiots standing on the tracks”.

Without going into details, I will tell you that once again I am extremely grateful to the Illini Community Hospital’s emergency room. I was treated with respect, professionalism, and care. We all need to be appreciative to have Illini Community Hospital in Pike County.
Several of us have been talking about forming an informal group of widows and widowers who would enjoy getting together one Friday a month at a restaurant where we would all enjoy a good meal and plenty of visiting or we might all go to one of the local shows that are featured in Pike County so no one would have to sit there by themselves. There would be no charge to become a part of this group but, of course, each person would have to pay for their own meal and the ticket to go into the show. If any of you would be interested in doing this, please call me at one of my phone numbers above.
Ginger Whitlock enjoyed a visit from Curt Englemann and friend on Monday, February 19th.
Friday, Feb. 23, was a beautiful day to have our Pittsfield High School Class of 1973 Class Luncheon at Watts Up/The Slice in Nebo where we enjoyed delicious food (best catfish fritters ever) and plenty of catching up and visiting with 17 of us present. They were: Tim Kremer; Oren Borrowman; Andy Borrowman; Dennis and Teresa Wade; Cheri Myers; Theresa Sidwell, Theresa Reel; Marvin Reel; Gary and Sharon Williams; Joe Womble and Mary Breden; Cathy Bollegar and Mark Guthrie; Jeanie Hartman; and Wyvetta Davis. Plans for the next one are under way. Hope to see you all there. (I enjoyed riding down with Cheri Myers and Theresa Sidwell, and on our way, we stopped at the new bakery in Nebo where, of course, we all bought a few sweet treats.)
Saturday, Feb. 24, Tad and Hannah Blacketer and sons, Asa and Amos, of Mt. Pulaski spent an enjoyable day with mom/grandmother Wanda Blacketer.

Welcome back home to Pike County, Carol Ann Ward!! She is now residing at the Hawthorne Inn (next to the Liberty Village) in Pittsfield.
A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold. The rich and poor meet together: the LORD is the maker of them all. Proverbs 22:1, 2
