St. John’s Lutheran Annual Egg Hunt was a success. Lots of little ones enjoyed all the fun. Thank you to all who donated a special thanks to Terry, Teresa, Kayla and Amy at the Landing for their generous donations. Thank you Lindsey Taul and family for donating the Grand Bunny in memory of Redeye Schumann. Geneva Bailey drew for it and Reagan Clendenny presented it to Autumn Lewis. The “Basket Foundation “in memory of Carol Robeen donated two baskets which were won by Piper Baltisberger and Sacara Doles.
I had a house full of family for Easter. We ate too much and enjoyed lots of laughs.
Big news in our family, my grandson Ren learned to ride his bike without training wheels this weekend so he wore his legs out riding his bike.
Deb and Eddy Jo Klunk also hosted family Easter as did Bob and Margie Smith. Their family enjoyed a friendly game of bags. Kenny and Brenda Johnson hosted their family for Easter on Saturday afternoon.
Bill and Jeane Bland had their annual Easter weekend family trip to Montauk. This Easter weekend was especially great for them as they got to spoil that new grandson Ben Bland.
Every year when I was a kid, my mom would make a bunny cake. She got the recipe from an insert in the Sunday paper called the Parade Magazine. Every year after my mom passed I would continue to make this cake. Eventually my nieces and sisters joined in the fun, and it was a friendly family competition. Easter 2020, during the Pandemic, I took my story to Facebook and encouraged friends as well to make the bunny cake with their families and post the pictures to my Facebook. Their response was overwhelming. I have since kept this up. I’ve even gave it a name “The Cuma Swan Bunny Cake Challenge.” This year we had 15 participants, friends and family. Thank you everyone. I look forward to this every year.
We are searching for our Queen at the Legion so get those tickets bought.
