Pleasant Hill Fire Department needing volunteers
The First Baptist Church summer meal program is in full swing. Free summer lunches for all area kids ages 0-18 years of age served Tuesdays and Thursdays at First Baptist Church of Pleasant Hill at 302 Parkview in Pleasant Hill. Serving from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays! Come to the kitchen door— side facing the swimming pool and ball diamonds. This is free lunch for all kids. Such a nice program for our community youth.
Pleasant Hill fire department family is asking for volunteers to join the department. They are in dire need of help. Whether it be running a truck or fighting the fire they need help. It’s a sad state as there are only have 7 firemen on the roster at this time. Any help is great especially during the day where they’re in really bad shape. Training is Monday nights and monthly meetings are the first Monday of the month. This is a great way to help out our community and give back to everyone at the same time. Yes, there are some mandatory trainings that are state required and we have a system for online training as well. There is even a $500 bonus after completing the first year. This is great opportunity and service to our community!
Nebo Nazarene Church is having a slip and slide day this Saturday at 11a.m., a kick off for VBS that will start Sunday through Wednesday, July 3, from 6-8p.m. each night and tractor will pick up town kids around 5:30 p.m. Supper will be provided.
Enjoy your last week of June, as the roastneers and tomatoes be pretty ripe real soon if not already. Mmm Mmm good!! And who would like to do a rain dance bout now too!! Have a blessed week folks!
